Fed: Bryce dumps senior adviser
SYDNEY, Aug 1 AAP - Australia's next Governor-general, Quentin Bryce, has dumped Yarralumla's
most senior adviser, sparking a row in the vice regal office.
News Limited says the former Queensland governor has told official secretary Malcolm
Hazell to find another job.
Major-General Michael Jeffery, who will soon leave the position of the Queen's representative,
reportedly confronted his successor when they met in Brisbane last week.
News Ltd says Ms Bryce will install her own preferred senior staff when she becomes
Australia's 25th governor general on September 5.
The paper says the prime minister's office has denied playing any part in dumping Mr Hazell.
