Fed: Renewable energy bill expected to get senate approval
Labor and the coalition are likely to reach agreement on renewable energy targets today
.. despite some misgivings amongst Nationals senators.
The Senate's then expected to vote on the government legislation that would make it
mandatory for 20 per cent of Australia's energy to come from renewable sources.
The coalition and government held more talks last night .. after veteran Nationals
senator RON BOSWELL expressed concern at the costs of renewable energy for households
and business.
However Nationals Senate leader BARNABY JOYCE has told ABC radio he expects his Queensland
colleague to toe the coalition line.
