Fed: Australia emerges clean in corruption survey

New survey results show Australia is among the least corrupt countries in the world,ahead of the US, Germany and France.

Australia came in at number 11 of the Transparency International annual survey, whichtakes in more than 100 countries.

Finland came in as the least corrupt and New Zealand and Denmark are equal second.

Bangladesh has been deemed the most corrupt country surveyed, beneath Nigeria, Indonesia,Kenya and Paraguay.

Transparency International chairman PETER EIGEN says this year's survey shows somecountries have an enormous task ahead of them to stamp out corruption.

He says the Earth Summit for world leaders, currently on in Johannesburg, needs tolead to action by some countries to clean up their act.
