Hawks, Blues spill bad blood

ST. LOUIS Hockey, unlike horse racing or boxing, has a rule thatrewards bleeders.

But the St. Louis Blues feel cheated of their due for the blooddonations of their fine rookie center, a chap named Rod Brind'Amour.

He has been the principal bleeder in a playoff series so fiercelycontested that the Blackhawks and Blues have given blood for theircause.

The Blues say Brind'Amour was scraped across a cheek by SteveLarmer's stick in Game 3 and gashed across the forehead by JocelynLemieux in Game 5.

The referee saw no evil in either case, so neither Larmer norLemieux suffered the mandatory five-minute major penalty and ejectionfrom the game, which the rule …
